Sun falls behind the mountain

Red and purple sky.

________________________ Sitting in silence

My monkey mind running free

Cool breezes waft in.

Scuff mark on the wall,

Focus of my meditation.

Breathe in, and breathe out.

________________________ He rushes forward

Enraged with fists flying

I just step aside.

________________________ Riots change nothing.

Burning tires blacken the sky.

The wise sit patient.

________________________ Distractions are gone,

Writing haiku at sunrise

Natural harmony.
